Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is and is not collected when you visit linkedshared.com (the “Site”), how that information is used, and the third-party services the Site relies on. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
Information we receive automatically
Like most websites, the server that hosts the Site keeps standard access logs. These logs may include your IP address, the date and time of your request, the page or file requested, the referring page, your browser type, and your operating system. This information is used to operate and secure the Site, diagnose technical problems, and understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
Newsletter and contact forms
The newsletter form on the home page and the contact form on the Contact Us page are demonstrations. They check the format of the information you enter in your browser and then display a message. They do not send the information anywhere, do not subscribe you to a mailing list, and do not store your name, email address, or message. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into these forms.
Email open tracking
This domain is also used to host a small, invisible image that may be included in emails sent through our email marketing platform. When a recipient opens such an email and the image loads, the request is recorded by the platform. The record can include the time of the request, the recipient’s IP address, the browser or email client user agent, and identifiers in the image URL that link the request to a specific mailing and recipient. This information is used to measure email opens and produce aggregate campaign reports. It is not used to read the contents of your email or to track your activity on other websites.
Cookies and local storage
The Site does not set cookies and does not use localStorage or sessionStorage. The email open tracking image described above does not set cookies.
Third-party services
The Site relies on the following third-party services. Your browser or our server may contact them when you use the Site:
- Google Fonts (fonts.google.com): the Site loads the Lato and Pacifico font files from Google’s servers. Google receives the request, which includes your IP address and browser information. Google’s privacy policy applies to that request.
- The New York Times RSS feed (nytimes.com): your browser retrieves the Business headlines directly from the NYT RSS feed so they can be displayed on the home page. The New York Times receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. When you click an article, you leave this Site and are subject to the New York Times’ terms and privacy policy.
The Site does not load third-party advertising networks, analytics scripts, or tracking scripts other than the services listed above.
How information is used
Information described in this policy is used to deliver and secure the Site, display news headlines, measure email opens for campaign reporting, and respond to technical or security issues. We do not sell personal information. We do not share information with advertisers.
Data retention
Server access logs are retained only for as long as needed for security, diagnostics, and aggregate reporting, and are then deleted or anonymized. Email open records are retained by the email marketing platform for campaign reporting for the period configured by the operator of that platform.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the Site. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please let us know using the Contact Us page.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies and site data through your browser settings; the Site does not require them to function. You can also block the email tracking image in your email client, although doing so may affect how senders measure opens. Because the Site does not collect form submissions, there is no account or newsletter profile to delete.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please visit the Contact Us page. Note that the contact form is a demonstration and does not deliver messages or store your details.
